
Jarell Quansah has expressed delight after making the final England squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America.The 23-year-old born to Ghanaian parents in England, surprisingly made the 26-man squad after manager Thomas Tuchel announced his squad on Friday.The former Liverpool centre-back, who now plies his trade in Germany with Bayer Leverkusen, enjoyed a magnificent debut campaign in the Bundesliga, making 28 appearances and scoring four goals.Following his inclusion to the squad, Quansah posted: “I used to dream of days like today, my first World Cup with England. A proud moment for me and my family, and one I will truly never forget! I want to thank everyone that has supported and believed in me from the very start until now. I cant wait to get started, see you in the US England fans!”Quansah will join fellow English-Ghanaian Kobbie Mainoo and the rest of his teammates for the trip to Florida to begin camping.Interestingly, the lanky defender will face the country of his parents Ghana in Group L of the tournament in Boston on June 23.Meanwhile, the shocking omissions of Harry Maguire, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Phil Foden and Luke Shaw left many England fans outraged.
