Essevee’s Joseph Opoku is substituted during a soccer match between SV Zulte WaregemGhanaian forward Joseph Opoku has penned an emotional message of gratitude to Zulte Waregem four days after completing his move to Welsh outfit Swansea City.The former Ghana U20 star signed a four-year deal to join the English Championship side after a successful two-year stint in Belgium.Opoku helped Zulte Waregem return to the Belgium topflight in his first year at the club before scoring ten goals and adding five assists in 33 matches in the Pro League last season.The 20-year-old seems to have already settled in Swansea, scoring his first goal for the club in a pre-season victory over Leganes.However, after his first game in the Swansea jersey, he decided to properly bid his former club a goodbye.He wrote on Instagram with photos from his time with Zulte: “Two unforgettable years.”From winning promotion back to the first division to fighting together and staying there, its been an incredible journey that Ill always be proud of.”A huge thank you to everyone at Zulte Waregemthe club, the staff, my teammates, and the amazing fans.
