The power struggle between Asantehene, Otumfour Osei Tutu II and Dormaahene Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyeman Badu II was rekindled this week at the late Berekumhene Daasebre Dr Amankona Diawuo’s funeral.
According to reports, Dormaahene Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyeman Badu was banned from attending the funeral.
In a series of videos, Dormaahene was seen addressing his people about the incident and how he was stopped from attending the funeral.
According to him, he received a directive from national security to avoid going for the funeral.
Apparently, there was an injunction barring him from attending the funeral.
Well, the real reason for Dormaahene being prevented from attending the funeral has been disclosed.
It has been revealed that all the sub-chiefs were supposed to attend the funeral on Wednesday by tradition so that Otumfour Osei Tutu II becomes the last person to attend the funeral.
However, Dormaahene also decided to go for the funeral on Thursday.
According to reports, he explained he would attend on Thursday because the Wednesday was ‘dabone’.
Following his decision, organizers of the funeral, Berekum Traditional Council took the case to court to put an injunction on Dormaahene from clashing with Asantihene.
