Ghanaian rapper, Sarkodie, has shown his support for boxer Freezy Macbones ahead of his upcoming fight scheduled for July 21 at York Hall.
Though Macbones did not disclose his opponent, he announced his plan to step into the ring for the event.
Sarkodie showed his enthusiasm by commenting on the announcement, stating, “All support behind” and adding a crown emoji.
Macbones, born in Ghana, decided to fight under the flag of the United Kingdom, where he currently resides, rather than his home country, sparking mixed reactions from fans in Ghana.
This was confirmed by the President of the Ghana Boxing Authority, Abraham Neequaye, who explained how Macbones had initially inquired about fighting under Ghana’s name.
However, after securing a license from the Ghana Boxing Authority, Macbones had then opted to fight as a UK national.
Macbones came to Ghana’s attention in April after impressively winning his bout against Darryl Sharp at the Copper Boxing Arena in London. A win that was followed by an emotional interview that went viral.
