Ghanaian rapper and singer Kwesi Arthur has spoken about the major support he received from fellow artiste Sarkodie, during the early stages of his music career.

Speaking in a candid interview with media personality Kafui Dey, Kwesi Arthur revealed that Sarkodie constantly promoted his music online long before they eventually worked together on a record.

“Sarkodie has always been supportive of what I do,” Kwesi Arthur shared. “I’ll link up with Sarkodie and he’ll tweet my links and all of that.”

The ‘Grind day’ hitmaker explained that their bond goes beyond music because they both come from Tema, something he says makes the connection more personal.

“We grew up listening to Sarkodie. That’s our guy from Tema,” he stated. “I’m from Tema Community 9, so it’s even deeper than just the Tema thing.”

Kwesi Arthur also credited M.anifest for contributing to his rise in the music industry. According to him, M.anifest publicly supported his craft on social media and also helped him secure an opportunity to perform on the Ghana Meets Naija stage at a crucial point in his career.

Reflecting on the success of his breakthrough song, Kwesi Arthur noted that Sarkodie’s contribution helped the track reach a much larger audience.

“At that time, the song was already doing wonders among people who were familiar with Kwesi Arthur, but Sarkodie elevated it,” he explained.

He further stated that Medikal’s appearance on the remix added more value to the song and strengthened its impact within the Ghanaian music scene.

“So yeah, big ups to Sarkodie and Medikal for doing that song with me. It really added something else to the great vibe that was already there,” he added.
