Leading entertainment group Venture Lifestyle follow up landmark events with J Lo, John Legend and Katy Perry, with a new show headlined by Shakira on 28th November. The Colombian star will return to Egypt for a major live performance against the backdrop of the iconic Great Pyramids of Giza in what will be her first concert in the country in almost two decades.
The event forms part of Venture Lifestyle’s continued commitment to delivering large-scale cultural experiences across Egypt and the wider MENA region. The entertainment and hospitality powerhouse has been defining the landscape since 2018 as the leading destination promoters who have brought Katy Perry, John Legend, Demi Lovato and more to the Middle East, as well as several influential events during the Formula 1 and many immersive showcases that combine music, heritage and destination storytelling.
This much anticipated concert sees a return to a location that holds particular significance for Shakira: her previous performance at the Pyramids in 2007 remains one of the most memorable international concerts ever staged in Egypt and brought together music, history and culture in unique ways on the global stage.
Over the course of a career spanning more than three decades, Shakira has become one of the world’s most successful and influential artists. With more than 95 million records sold worldwide, multiple Grammy and Latin Grammy Awards and a catalogue that has transcended borders and languages, she continues to connect audiences across generations and cultures. Her recent Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran era has reaffirmed her status as a legendary musical force and also marked a new chapter in her artistic evolution. In anticipation of the show, Shakira said “I’m very happy to be performing in Egypt, at the Pyramids of Giza. I love you all”
The Great Pyramids of Giza are the only surviving wonder of the ancient world and have increasingly become the setting for internationally significant live events as a unique meeting point between contemporary culture and thousands of years of history. The November performance will continue that tradition and put one of pop’s most recognisable figures amongst some of humanity’s most enduring landmarks.
