Singer, David Burke, known professionally as D4VD, has been accused by prosecutors in California of killing a 14-year-old girl and attempting to cover up the crime.
The allegations are contained in a preliminary hearing brief released on 29 April, outlining charges including murder, continuous sexual abuse of a minor and unlawful mutilation of human remains.
Prosecutors say Celeste Rivas Hernandez was stabbed to death on 23 April 2025 at the singer’s Hollywood Hills residence, following a dispute over his relationships with other women. The filing alleges the teenager had threatened to expose information that could damage his career, just days before the release of his debut album.
The brief further claims D4VD arranged for the victim to be transported to his home before sending messages and making calls to her phone after her death in what prosecutors describe as a deliberate attempt to mislead investigators. He is also accused of driving to Santa Barbara to dispose of evidence before returning to Los Angeles.

The victim’s remains were later discovered in September 2025 in the trunk of the singer’s vehicle. Prosecutors allege attempts were made to destroy evidence, including dismemberment. D4VD has denied the allegations through his lawyers, who say they will vigorously defend him. He faces a possible life sentence without parole, with a decision on the death penalty yet to be made ahead of a preliminary hearing scheduled for May.
