NDC flagbearer John Dramani Mahama would, on 7th January, return to the Flagstaff House as the President of Ghana for the second time after eight(8) years in opposition.
Following the announcement of John Dramani Mahama as the President-elect by the Electoral Commissioner, Jean Mensah, he becomes the first former president to be elected as president after his leaving power.
We take a look at some records set by the second coming of John Dramani Mahama.
1. John Mahama because the first president to be sworn in for the third time as president.
2. He is the only Ghanaian politician who has gone through all of the political ranks: Assemblymember, MP, Deputy Minister, Minister, Vice President, and President.
3. He is the only person who woke up in the morning as Vice President and was sworn in as President in the evening, without an election.
4. He is the only sitting President who lost an election by nearly a million votes but came back to defeat his opponent by more than 1.6 million votes.
