English side, Sunderland AFC has announced the signing of Ghana international Abdul Salis Samed.
The club confirmed the capture of the player on Friday night after agreeing to a deal with French Ligue 1 outfit RC Lens.
In an official statement from Sunderland AFC, the club said Abdul Salis Samed has been signed on a season-long loan deal.
“Sunderland AFC is delighted to announce the signing of Salis Abdul Samed. The 24-year-old midfielder has moved to Wearside on a season-long loan from RC Lens, subject to international clearance,” the English club said.
Speaking on the new arrival, club Sporting Director Kristjaan Speakman said Sunderland AFC is pleased with the latest acquisition.
He said the club is keen on helping the Ghana midfielder to settle to get the best out of him.
“We are delighted to welcome Sallis to Sunderland. He’s a defensive midfielder player, who is disciplined in and out of possession. He is a different profile within our midfield, and we believe he will relish the battles that come with playing in a league like the Sky Bet Championship. Sallis’ experiences in Ligue 1 and the UEFA Champions League will stand him in good stead, as we support him in transitioning to English football,” Kristjaan Speakman said as quoted on the website of Sunderland.
