Black Starlets head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has described Group D of the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations as a highly competitive pool, stressing that every team involved has earned its place at the tournament.Ghana have been drawn alongside Senegal, Algeria and South Africa in a section widely regarded as one of the most demanding at the youth competition, with no clear favourites as all four sides bring strong credentials.”It is definitely a very competitive group because all four teams deserve to be here and have quality. Senegal won the tournament in 2023, Algeria are very organised, and South Africa also has a strong football culture. But at this stage of the competition, there are no easy games,”Ogum told CAFOnline. He added that his side remains grounded despite the challenge ahead, highlighting belief in their preparation and the importance of taking matches one at a time.”We respect every opponent, but we also believe in our own quality and preparation. Our focus is to take one match at a time and give our best in every game.”The Black Stars will open their campaign against Algeria tonight at theMohammed VI Football Academy with kick off slated at 19:00 GMT.Ghana will be hoping to navigate the difficult group stage and build momentum as they chase a strong run in the continental tournament.
