Morocco’s  U-23 team coach, Issame Charai, has disclosed that his squad will exploit the shortcomings of Ghana to get a good result when both teams clash on Tuesday night in their second group game at the  U-23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Both teams will head into the game with victories from their previous encounters. Morocco climbed from behind to beat Guinea 2-1 on the opening day while Ghana survived a late scare managing to win 3-2 against Congo.

The Black Meteors were sharp in attack as they scored thrice after the break following a goalless first half. However, they almost gave all away after conceding two late goals in stoppage time raising concerns about the team’s defence.

Charai who had the opportunity to witness the game believes Ghana’s weaknesses are well noted and will look forward to capitalise on that.

“We analyzed Ghana’s match against Congo. They possess a formidable offensive threat and display remarkable speed. However, we also identified areas of vulnerability within their team,” he said in the pre-match interview.

“We must remain focused, start the game strongly, and bear in mind that we are playing on home soil. Disappointing our nation is not an option.”

“All Moroccans have a significant part to play. The fans must rally behind the players from the outset. In our first match against Guinea, the fans’ unwavering support propelled us forward, making a notable impact,” he added.

The two teams will square off at the Prince Moulay Abdellah stadium, with the winner advancing to the semi-finals.
