The Upper East Regional Football Association (UERFA) has urged stakeholders to work together to strengthen football development across the region after successfully holding its Ordinary Congress in Bolgatanga.

The congress took place at the Regional House of Chiefs and brought together key members of the football community to assess the previous season and discuss preparations for the 2026/27 campaign.

As the Associations highest decision-making body, the meeting provided an opportunity for members to consider a range of administrative, financial and sporting matters.

The agenda included a review of the past season, the Associations Activity Report, its Financial Statements and Auditors Report, as well as the proposed budget for the new season.

Addressing those present, Regional Football Association Chairman Salifu Seidu Zida said unity, peace and togetherness were essential to the continued growth of football in the Upper East Region.

He called on stakeholders to set aside their differences and work towards a shared vision for the game. That vision, he said, should focus on strengthening grassroots football, developing young talent and creating more opportunities for the regions football community.

Zida also stressed that long-term progress would depend on cooperation and mutual respect among all those involved in the sport.

He identified club administrators, referees, coaches and other members of the football fraternity as important contributors to a united approach to football development.

The congress was attended by Ghana Football Association Executive Council member and Greater Accra Regional Football Association Chairman Samuel Aboabire.

Regional Football Associations Coordinator Daasebre Adu-Asare Michael was also present.

Their attendance underlined the importance of cooperation between the regional football associations and the Ghana Football Association in supporting the development of football across the country.

The successful completion of the congress gives stakeholders in the Upper East Region a platform to build on their joint efforts and work towards a more united and progressive football community.
