Celebrated Ghanaian songstress, Mzbel has debunked rumours that she is no more friends with popular Socialite Tonardo.
Recall that Mzbel had said in an earlier interview that most of her friends were with her because of what they get and not because they genuinely appreciated her.
Few days after the interview and people citing Tonardo as a fair weather friend, she quickly came out to apologise.
In a Facebook Live, Mzbel noted that the rumours about their alleged falling out were untrue and that a few people had exploited an earlier interview she granted to sow the seeds of enmity between them.
She explained that she got carried away by her emotions and reaffirmed her strong friendship with Tonardo.
âTonardo and I are still friends. People are misinterpreting comments I made earlier. I granted an interview on Step One 1 TV sometime in December, following a less-than-stellar show at Afrochella. I lost it during the interview and spoke inappropriately, but I quickly realised I didnât speak well, so I wrote an apology post. And that interview even wasnât directed at Tonardo so Iâm surprised why people are trying to create that enmity between us based in the interview,â she said during the live session.
Mzbel added that she was proud of her friend (Tonardo) for handling the situation without creating unnecessary tension to jeopardise their friendship.
âIâm so proud of Nana Tonardo for not making a deal out of this. When two people become friends, there is always a plot to destroy them. Iâll advise friends to avoid showcasing their lovely relationship on social media due to judgmental eyes. These people are quick to mislead their friends. I still consider Tonardo to be a friend,â she said in a Facebook live session.
Mzbel is known for songs such as âAwoso Meâ, âObaa, Yopooâ, â16 Yearsâ and âEdey Beâ
