We will complete all abandoned projects if Mahama wins – Sipa Yankey

The former CEO of Ghana National Gas Company Limited and former Minister of Health, Dr. George Sipa-Adjah Yankey, has assured that the next NDC government will complete the stalled NPP projects in the Western Region within two years of taking office.

Speaking at a media engagement, he outlined plans for the next NDC administration and urged residents of the Western Region to have faith in the NDC government.

Dr. Yankey emphasized that the NDC has a proven track record of completing projects within a given timeframe. He cited the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant as a notable example of the party’s ability to deliver on its promises.

“We have a proven track record of delivering projects efficiently. The Atuabo Gas Processing Plant, for instance, was designed to be completed in four years, but we successfully completed it within three years.

I find it puzzling that a relatively simpler project, such as an interchange, road construction, or a bridge, would take over four years to complete. In contrast, the complex Atuabo Gas Plant was completed in just three years. This demonstrates that we possess the necessary skills and expertise to effectively manage and deliver on such projects,” he stated.

Dr. George Sipa-Adjah Yankey is urging residents in the Western Region to choose progress over stagnation.

“We urge you to vote massively for us in the following constituencies: Takoradi, Sekondi, Essikado, Effia, and Kwesimintsim. We’re committed to completing the stalled market circle project and all other abandoned projects in these areas.”

“Unlike the NPP, which has struggled to secure international funding due to its lack of credibility, we have a proven track record of securing funds from reputable financial institutions, both locally and internationally. Our strong relationships with these institutions will enable us to negotiate and secure the necessary funding to complete these projects.”

“Furthermore, the conditions of our roads will remain deplorable if the NPP remains in power. It’s time for a change. Let’s work together to bring development and progress to our region. Vote for us and let’s make a difference,” he pleaded.

Professor Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah, the NDC parliamentary candidate for the Essikado Constituency, attributed the region’s decline to poor leadership.

She specifically highlights the voting patterns of the five constituencies in the metropolis as a contributing factor. Dr. Ayensu-Danquah emphasizes the need for effective leadership to drive progress and development in the region.

“Growing up in the Western Region, I’ve witnessed firsthand the region’s decline. Despite being rich in resources like gold, cocoa, timber, bauxite, and oil, the region seems to be retrogressing. The once-thriving area now faces numerous challenges, including flooding in areas like New Site during rainstorms and an overwhelming presence of dust everywhere.”

“It’s disheartening to see the Western Region, with its vast coastline and access to the ocean, being neglected. The region boasts an impressive array of natural resources, yet it’s surprising that it’s not more developed. For instance, Johannesburg, which has only gold, seems more prosperous than the Western Region, which has a diverse range of resources.”

“The question remains: why hasn’t the Western Region reached its full potential? The answer, in my opinion, lies in poor leadership. It’s essential for the region to come together and demand better from its leaders. We need to advocate for the development of our region and support leaders who will bring about positive change.” She noted.
