Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr. has cautioned persons vying for positions in their parties to desist from tribal politics.
Kwesi Pratt, contributing to Peace FM’s morning panel discussion programme “Kokrokoo”, slammed politicians who when contesting positions in their parties attack their opponents by using the opponent’s tribe against him or her.
He was speaking in relation to the impending delegates congress of the New Patriotic Party to elect their flagbearer.
Ten candidates have picked nomination forms to contest the Presidential race of the New Patriotic Party.
Among the candidates are the Vice President of the Republic; Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, former Trade Minister; Alan Kyerematen, Assin Central Member of Parliament; Kennedy Agyapong, former Minister for Railways and Development; Joe Ghartey and former Agriculture Minister, Dr. Akoto Afriyie.
Mr. Pratt advised the candidates to engage in a decorous campaign.
“What is wrong with politicians?”, he asked, condemning the politics of tribe.
