Zeepay and MoneyGram have launched account deposit services for customers in Nigeria.

With the help of such innovation by Zeepay and MoneyGram, which is the first of its kind for the Nigerian customer base, recipients of remittances can now deposit money directly into bank accounts from nearly anywhere around the globe.

Zeepay and MoneyGram partnered to launch such a revolutionary service that transforms the remittance landscape in Nigeria.

Funds can now be simply and securely deposited straight into beneficiaries’ bank accounts as consumer preferences change towards online platforms.

This is because money is easily accessible through several channels, such as ATMs, point-of-sale devices, and bank counters. This service gives customers multiple options for receiving remittances.

MoneyGram’s extensive international network spans more than 200 nations and territories and serves more than 50 million customers annually. This is a valuable addition to Zeepay’s leading position in international payment processing throughout Africa and the Caribbean.

Nigeria is the second-largest beneficiary of remittances in Africa, according to a new World Bank report.

Remittances are transferred to Nigeria to help with a variety of issues, including food insecurity, supply chain disruptions, the aftermath of floods and other natural disasters, and more.

“We are thrilled to introduce this innovative service to consumers in Nigeria, a market that truly relies on inbound remittances. This launch is a significant step in improving last-mile access and addressing security concerns for remittance receivers. With our account deposit service, beneficiaries in Nigeria can now access their funds around the clock, whether through ATMs, point-of-sale devices, or counter services,” said Dede Quarshie, Commercial Head at Zeepay.
