Ghanaian musician cum film director, Nicholas Tetteh Nartey widely known as Big Ghun’s co-directed movie, Leaked, became the only movie that gave Ghana award at this year’s Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCAs) after picking the MultiChoice Talent Factory award

Big Ghun’s latest feat comes a year after his show film, KORO was nominated in the Best Short Film category at last year’s awards ceremony.

Big Ghun’s win is quite historic considering that this is the first time a winner is coming from West Africa.

He was also full of praises for his co-director, Andrea Peregrino for her great input in making the production a success.

“Leak’s co-director is a Nigerian and she was quite instrumental in the success of this production. I’m quite excited to know that we are both young filmmakers and this is encouraging for Africa’s film industry,” he said.

Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards is an annual accolade presented by MultiChoice recognising outstanding achievement in television and film in Africa.

The event which was held in Lagos saw the display of glamour and glitz from talents within the entertainment industry.

The award ceremony showcased performances from top acts in the Nigerian music industry including Tiwa Savage, Spyro and Iyanya who thrilled the audience with their songs and moves.

This year’s edition was hosted by Zozibini Tunzi and IK Osakioduwa.
