Athletico Club’s Inaki Williams snatched a late win for Chris Hughton’s side with a powerful header in the 95th minute to give Ghana all three points as the game ended 1-0 at the Baba Yara Stadium on Friday, November 17.

The goal was also his first for the country in his 12th appearance.

Thus Ghana commenced its 2026 World Cup qualifiers with a vital home win over Madagascar.

The Black Stars now sit in second place in group I of the World Cup Qualifiers with three points and a goal difference of +1.

Comoros is top of the group after a 4-2 win over the Central African Republic in their opening group game.
