3 Landguads Arrested for Attacking Police Officers At Comet Estates

Police officers in the Comet Police Station at Brekuso located in the foothills of the Aburi Ridge of the Eastern Region have apprehended three notorious landguards who are working for the Nii Odai Ntow family of Kwabenya in Accra.

Three notorious landguards who are Issac Badu Agyemang, Freeman Mustapha and Godson Tacky were apprehended by officers of the Comet Police Station in Brekuso on Thursday, September 12, 2024.

The thugs, who are allegedly affiliated
with the Nii Odai Ntow family of Kwabenya,
were arrested for attacking three police officers stationed at Comet Estates, located at the foothills of the Aburi Ridge in the Eastern Region.

The incident occurred around 10:15 A.M. when the landguards stormed the police station in an attempt to forcibly release a a surveyor for Nii Odai Ntow family of Kwabenya and Ashongman who had been invited by the police for questioning.

The surveyor, Emmanuel Asare is accused of unlawfully entering land belonging to Comet Properties Company Limited, a prominent real estate developer in the region.

During the confrontation, the attackers severely assaulted Lance Corporal Daniel Donkor, Corporal Oboh Samuel, and Chief Inspector Seidu Alhassan, all stationed at the Comet Police Station.

The officers managed to subdue the assailants and took them into custody.

Following their arrest, the three suspects provided caution statements to the police.

The three supects are expected to be transferred to the Aburi District Police Headquarters for further investigation and possible legal action.

The suspect surveyor, Emmanuel Asare reportedly hired by members of the Nii Odai Ntow family of Kwabenya and Ashongman, was found unlawfully on land owned by Comet Properties Company Limited.

The land in question is part of a larger estate that Comet Properties acquired in 2002 from Akwapim families in Brekuso, Eastern Region.

The estate, known as Comet Estates, spans over 1,000 acres and has since been developed into a thriving urban community under the jurisdiction of the Akwapim South Municipal Assembly.

The property is fully registered with the Lands Commission in Koforidua.
