Akyem Ayirebi’s New Dawn As Nana Asare Duodu Gyimah Iii Takes The Throne | Social

Thousands of people took to the streets to celebrate the outdooring ceremony of Ayirebihene Nana Asare Duodu Gyimah III on Wednesday morning 24th September 2024.

Ayirebi a farming and business community in the Ofoase-Ayirebi District in the Eastern Region came alive as Nana Asare Duodu Gyimah III adorned in his beautiful Nyame na oyi Ohene Kente cloth rode in palanquin through some principal streets amidst songs of praise.

For Ayirebi folks, there was a reason to be happy as a protracted chieftaincy dispute had finally come to an end.

Nana Asare Duodu Gyimah III is blessed considering the jubilation of thousands of elderly men and women and the support of the teeming youth from the forested town and its adjoining villages.

One townfolk Joseph Donkor a retired District Cocoa Purchasing officer remarked: “This is but the beginning of better days ahead of Ayirebi”.

Addressing the Press and townfolks several of whom had travelled by foot to participate in the procession, Nana Asare Duodu Gyimah III hinted: “ A new day has dawned for Ayirebi. The town is just on the brink of experiencing unprecedented strides”.

Ayirebihene outlined a five (5) point strategy to help push Ayirebi forward.

1. Scholarship fund.
“I will establish a scholarship fund to increase access to secondary and tertiary schools”.

2 Mass Education on Sanitation
“I will pursue a sensitization program on sanitation to help improve the overall environmental Health and sanitation of Ayirebi and its inhabitants”.

3. Roads
“I will cooperate with Government to increase the number of motorable roads in and around Ayirebi”.

4. ⁠Modern Market Infrastructure
“I will raise funds and build a modern market to augment trade in Akyem Ayirebi.

5. ⁠Reconciliation
“Considering the division which existed before my installation, I will bridge gaps and foster unity amongst townfolks so we could all join hands and build Akyem Ayirebi for the future of our children”.

PRIVATE LIFE

Born Kwadwo Gyimah in 1968 to Mr Samuel Oduro and Obaapanin Yaa Tenewaa , Nana Asare Duodu Gyimah III was the sixth child of 8 children in the family.

Nana Asare Duodu Gyimah III started his education at the Ayirebi Methodist Primary School, continued through to the Middle School and completed in 1988.

He then proceeded to study Mechanical
Engineering at the famous Accra Technical Training Center (ATTC) from 1992-1995.

Nana Asare Duodu Gyimah III thereafter ventured into professional driving, farming and later became a Timber Merchant.

Following the death of the Ayirebi chief Obrempong Gyapire Agyekum II, a long history of dispute ensued until Nana Asare Duodu Gyimah III was installed on 21st March 2022 and subsequently gazetted on 14th March 2024.

Many inhabitants of Akyem Ayirebi hold an unflinching belief that the forested town is set to march into glory with Nana Asare Duodu Gyimah III an Astute business man on the throne.
