French referee Clément Turpin has been appointed to officiate Ghana’s round of 32 clash against Colombia at the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Saturday, July 4, at Arrowhead Stadium.
Turpin is no stranger to this year’s tournament, having already taken charge of two group-stage matches – the Group L encounter between England and Croatia and the Group D fixture involving Paraguay and Australia.
He will be assisted by fellow French officials Nicolas Danos and Benjamin Pagès as Ghana and Colombia battle for a place in the Round of 16.
The experienced official is regarded as one of Europe’s top referees, having overseen several major finals during his career, including the 2021 UEFA Europa League final and the 2022 UEFA Champions League final.
Ghana booked their place in the knockout stage after finishing third in Group L with four points, while Colombia progressed as winners of Group K.
With an experienced officiating team in place, attention now turns to what promises to be a fiercely contested encounter as the Black Stars seek to reach the World Cup Round of 16 for the first time since 2010.
