Legendary Ghanaian comic actor Akwesi Boadi, popularly known as Akrobeto, shared how he reconnected with his sons after a long period away from their lives.
Akrobeto admitted he wasn’t spending enough time with his boys so he made an effort to change that. He indicated that they started going out to eat with them, and this helped them bond.
Akrobeto’s comments came after Archbishop Duncan Williams spoke about his regret of not being closer to his children.
The legendary Kumawood actor jokingly said that for him, the secret ingredient was a simple Ghanaian dish prepared with gari and beans and popularly called gobɛ.
He explained that they would visit popular gobɛ joints only to enjoy the delicacy and bond as a family.
“I wasn’t wealthy at the time…but I knew I wasn’t close to my sons. So I started spending more time with them, and what brought us together was going out to eat Gari and beans (gobɛ),” he said
Richard Kyekyeku Kyere is the first of Akrobeto’s three sons. He currently lives in Brazil with his wife and child. His second son is a Legon graduate who passed out from the school with Second Class Upper and is currently working.
