GFA blocks Ghanaian sports journalist Saddick Adams on social media

Award-winning Ghanaian sports journalist Saddick Adams has publicly criticized the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for blocking him on X.Saddick, in a recent social media post, shared a screenshot showing that the official GFA X account had blocked him. In his tweet, he directly addressed GFA president Kurt Okraku and Communications director Henry Asante, expressing his disappointment. He emphasized that he had not used offensive language and had followed the account for access to information. Saddick’s tweet received support from fellow sports journalists and the public, sparking concerns about the GFA’s actions.

Prior to this incident, Saddick Adams had announced plans for a demonstration against the GFA. The aim of the demonstration was to address the decline in football standards, particularly following the disappointing exit of the Black Stars from the 2023 AFCON.

The General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association, Prosper Harrison Addo Esq., has issued an apology to the sports journalist on the same social media platform, acknowledging that the blocking was an error.
