Ghana has announced the lifting of all COVID-19 restrictions at entry points across the country, starting today, May 20, 2023.

The decision was made following the World Health Organisation’s declaration on May 5, 2023, that COVID-19 is no longer a Public Health Emergency of International Concern.

As a result, pre-departure testing and testing at entry points are no longer mandatory for passengers, and the COVID-19 health declaration form for international travelers has been suspended.

The Ghana Health Service (GHS) assures that the health systems in the country are prepared to respond to any potential surges of COVID-19 and will continue to maintain measures for protection and vigilance.

This includes the continuation of the COVID-19 vaccination drive, testing individuals with symptoms at sentinel sites, surveillance for new variants, and the promotion of general safety measures such as hand hygiene.
