Ghana international Mohammed Kudus has become a top target for Newcastle United, who are considering offloading Anthony Gordon to Liverpool.
According to iNews, Newcastle United may turn to West Ham United’s Jarrod Bowen or Kudus if Gordon departs.
Kudus joined West Ham from Ajax last summer and made an immediate impact in the Premier League during his debut season.
The 24-year-old was outstanding for the Hammers, scoring 14 goals and providing six assists across all competitions.
Newcastle fans witnessed Kudus’s talent firsthand during a thrilling 4-3 match against West Ham in March. Kudus scored and assisted in that game, earning praise from West Ham manager David Moyes, who called him “excellent.”
Kudus made a significant impression at St James’ Park, although the match was also notable for his altercation with a ball boy and Newcastle’s remarkable comeback.
If Gordon leaves, Newcastle might get another chance to sign Kudus, but it will come at a cost. West Ham will aim to make a profit after signing him for £38 million in 2023, and his £85 million release clause won’t be active again until next summer.
