Ghanaian actor John Bredu Peasah, popularly known as Drogba from the hit TV series “YOLO”, has launched a GoFundMe campaign with the aim of raising $280,000 to fund his medical treatment overseas.

Back in March 2024, Drogba was diagnosed with demyelination, a condition that affects the nervous system, and has been undergoing treatment since. As he now prepares to continue his treatment abroad, he is seeking financial support from his fans and the general public.

In an Instagram post shared on Wednesday, August 14, and sighted by GhanaWeekend, Drogba expressed deep gratitude to Ghana’s Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who recently visited him and offered financial support. He also thanked his friends and well-wishers for their continued contributions and encouragement.

However, despite this support, Drogba revealed that the mounting costs of his treatment have depleted his financial resources, necessitating his appeal for additional funds. The actor specifically mentioned the need for funds to cover hospital admissions, medical treatments, IVIG therapy—an expensive treatment option—and plasma exchange.

In a related update, Drogba disclosed that he has also developed Sleep Apnea Syndrome as a result of his condition, for which he has been prescribed a CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) machine to help regulate his breathing while he sleeps.

Drogba’s plea is a heartfelt call for public assistance as he battles these serious health challenges and seeks to regain his health.
