Iconic Ghanaian rapper Guru has come forward to shed light on the origins of his ongoing feud with fellow artiste Kuami Eugene.
In a candid interview on Accra FM, Guru explained that the feud began with a simple miscommunication. He explained that he and Kuami Eugene had initially agreed to collaborate on a song, but the conversation was misinterpreted by some people as Guru asking Kuami Eugene for a feature.
Guru clarified that he was not asking Kuami Eugene for a feature, but rather for a collaboration.
He said that collaborations often start with a conversation between the artistes, and that it is then up to the managers of the artistes to negotiate the terms of the collaboration.
Guru expressed frustration that the situation escalated into a public dispute. He stressed that he was never trying to disrespect Kuami Eugene or his record label, Lynx Entertainment. He simply wanted to collaborate with a talented artiste.
Guru also denied claims that he had approached Kuami Eugene after previous disagreements. “this feud was not about me versus anyone’s boss, but rather a matter within the industry.”
Guru concluded by saying that he hopes to put this feud behind him and focus on making music.
