Hearts of Oak assistant coach David Ocloo has praised Kotoku Royals’ coach John Eduafo after the bottom side put up a strong performance in the league clash at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
Kotoku Royals, buoyed by their previous win over Bechem United, gave Hearts a run for their money and kept the game neck-and-neck until the 96th minute when Caleb Amankwah scored the winning goal.
Ocloo, who previously worked as an assistant coach for former Kotoko gaffer Prosper Narteh Ogum alongside Eduafo, expressed his delight with the outcome and acknowledged that considering Kotoku Royals’ current position, they provided a tough challenge.
“I told you it was going to be a difficult game because they are down[below] and will come with multiple efforts and that is what they did but kudos to John[Eduafo]. He has done a yeoman’s job. His boys played very well. But don’t forget we are the ‘never say die’ lads,” he said after the game.
Hearts are now undefeated in their last three games under the auspices of David Ocloo but are still behind Accra Lions and Bechem United on the table.
While management are yet to decide on coach Slavko Matic following a row with some unsatisfied fans of the club, David Ocloo is expected to lead the team once more in their next match against Karela United at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park on Saturday.
