Hearts of Oak assistant coach David Ocloo is still optimistic about their title chances despite losing 3-0 to Karela United on Saturday in Anyinase.
The Phobians’ unbeaten run came to an end under Ocloo, who has been in charge for the past three weeks in the absence of Slavko Matic.
The 2020/2021 league champions have now lost six games and are currently fourth on the table, having played a game more than leaders Aduana Stars, who lead the log with 39 points, four more than Hearts.
Ocloo, who has taken over as head coach in the absence of Slavko Matic, however, remains optimistic about their chances of being crowned champions at the end of the current campaign.
“We are still in the title race. We are left with 12 matches and anything can happen. This is football so we are still in.
“We are going back to correct the wrongs and try and work more. Take the positives and work on it,” He said after the team’s defeat to Karela United.
Accra Lions and Bechem United are also second and third on the table with 38 and 37 points respectively while Asante Kotoko who have two outstanding matches lie just below the Phobians with 34 points.
Hearts will host Accra Lions at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday in an encounter that promises to be interesting given the positions in which both teams find themselves.
