Ghanaian actress and entrepreneur, Akuapem Poloo, has opened up about her life in the public eye, insisting that she has no regrets about most of the content she has shared online since rising to fame except for one deeply controversial post involving her son.

Speaking on the entertainment talk show Girls Can Talk on Adom TV, the social media personality said she stands by her outspoken nature and online presence, including being vocal about trending issues and sharing personal opinions, which she believes is no different from what other social commentators do.

However, Akuapem Poloo drew a clear line at one particular moment in her past. Reflecting on her journey, she admitted that the only thing she regrets and wishes she could undo is the 2020 incident in which she posted a nude photo of herself with her son during his 7th birthday celebration.

It will be recalled that the image sparked widespread public backlash and legal consequences, eventually leading to her conviction and a 90-day prison sentence.

“I have no regrets over whatever I have put out there, aside the nude picture I took with my son to post. That’s my only regret,” she said. “Being loud on social media, addressing issues, or sharing my views, I don’t regret any of that.”

The actress further maintained that she has no regrets, as she believes she has never used her platform to insult people or deliberately attack anyone online. According to her, her intention has always been to add her voice to ongoing conversations, especially on trending public issues, rather than to cause harm or spread negativity.

She explained that whenever she speaks on matters that go viral or spark debate, she does so as a form of participation in public discourse just like many other social media users and commentators. For her, it is more about expressing opinions and engaging with issues as they unfold, not about disrespecting individuals or picking personal fights.

Akuapem Poloo also emphasized that much of what the public sees online does not reflect her full personal life. According to her, she has always maintained a clear boundary between her public persona and private relationships.

“Ever since I came into the limelight in 2018, have you heard that this is Poloo’s boyfriend or she is dating this person? I could be dating a minister but no one knows,” she said, adding that her private life remains deliberately shielded from public scrutiny.

Despite her often controversial online presence, Poloo insists there is more to her life than what social media shows, stressing that she continues to control what she chooses to make public.
