Year-on-year inflation for March 2025 declined to 22.4%, a slight improvement from 23.1% recorded in February 2025. This downward trend was primarily driven by reductions in both food and non-food inflation.

Food inflation fell to 26.5% in March from 28.1% in February, while non-food inflation edged down marginally from 18.8% to 18.7%. Inflation for locally produced items also saw a decline, dropping from 25.1% in February to 24.0% in March.

However, the inflation rate for imported goods rose slightly, reaching 18.7% in March, up from 18.5% in February. Among key categories, Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages maintained an inflation rate of 26.5%, while Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas, and Other Fuels recorded 25.1%.

A comparison between February and March 2025 highlights a continued disinflationary trend, with domestic price pressures easing while import inflation showed signs of rising.
