At the official unveiling of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) running mate in Accra, party flagbearer John Dramani Mahama expressed unwavering confidence in Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang.
He hailed her as a perfect complement, possessing dignity, courage, integrity, and grace.
Mahama emphasized Opoku-Agyemang’s representation of the aspirations and dreams of every Ghanaian, particularly the female population.
“Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang represents the aspirations and the dreams of every Ghanaian, especially our female population. As my second in command, she will break the glass ceiling that has held our women down,” he remarked.
With Opoku-Agyemang as his second-in-command, Mahama believes she will inspire hope in the youth and serve as the ideal vice president for Ghana.
“She will generate new hope in our daughters that the sky is the limit and they can also occupy the highest offices of the land,” he affirmed.
Mahama outlined Opoku-Agyemang’s oversight responsibilities, which include Ghana’s education, health sectors, as well as gender and social protection.
“If we were to build the Ghana we want together, then Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang is truly the vice president Ghana is looking for,” he concluded.
