Kevin-Prince Boateng

Former Ghana international Kevin-Prince Boateng is currently facing a decision on whether to continue his playing career or retire.

Despite previously expressing his desire to retire at the end of the last season, the 36-year-old Ghanaian forward appears to be motivated to keep playing.

Boateng’s contract with his boyhood club, Hertha Berlin, expired on June 30, and he is currently a free agent. Unfortunately, his return to Berlin did not go as planned, as he failed to make a significant impact, and the club ended up being relegated from the German Bundesliga.

Although there were discussions about Boateng potentially taking up a technical or management role at Hertha Berlin after retiring, he seems uncertain about that path at the moment. Instead, he is focused on evaluating what is best for him and what his body can still offer in terms of playing football.

He said, “I have to see what’s best for me, what my body can still give. I will make a statement on this in two weeks.”

Boateng’s football career has been quite eventful and full of travels. He made his breakthrough into the Hertha first team in 2005 before moving to the English Premier League with Tottenham Hotspurs in 2007. Throughout his career, he has played for various clubs, including AC Milan, Barcelona, Portsmouth, Las Palmas, Genoa, Sassuolo, Fiorentina, and Besiktas, and has won a total of seven career trophies.
