Hearts of Oak’s Congolese midfielder Linda Mtange has admitted that winning a trophy this season will be a daunting task for the team.
The Phobians were eliminated from the FA Cup with a slim defeat to Dreams FC on Sunday.
They would now have to battle with Aduana Stars and Kotoko among others to compete for the league title which happens to be the only available silverware for the 2020/2021 champions.
Hearts are currently in fourth position, three points behind leaders Aduana Stars.
Linda Mtange who joined the club at the beginning of the season believes it will take extra effort from his teammates to accomplish the club’s goal of winning a trophy this season.
“It’s will be difficult for Hearts to win the league this season,” he told Akoma Sports.
“The only way we can have a chance is for the players to play beyond the level we are doing now. It will take dedication and a strong mentality to help Hearts achieve our objective.
“We cannot end the season without a trophy, so being eliminated from the FA Cup, we must come together and make fans proud by trying to win the league. But it’s not going to be easy.
“I want to achieve greatness with the club during my time. We need all the fans behind us to achieve this aim.”
Hearts will visit Tarkwa to lock horns with Medeama SC on Saturday in the Ghana Premier League.
