Famed Ghanaian music executive, Baba Sadiq Abu, has revealed he believes Chalewote festival owner, Mantse, has a valid claim against Obrafour.
Mantse Aryeequaye, the voice behind the ‘Killer Cut Blood’ sound that is a bone of contention between Obrafour and Drake, has staked his claim to the intellectual property rights of the sound.
Obrafour, as already reported, is suing Drake in New York District Court for $10m for using the sample in his ‘Calling My Name’ track without permission.
Mantse Aryeequaye also claims as the one who actually sang the part in question, he owns the rights to it and called out Obrafour for trying to claim the money alone.
He also claims Obrafour has cheated him for years.
His claim has sparked a furore on social media and Obrafour has yet to respond.
Abu Sadiq gave his two cents on the issue and said in his opinion, Mantse has a valid claim on the intellectual property rights for the ‘Killer Cut blood’ line.
