Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has said that government will use part of the $2 billion Korean loan facility to construct a bridge over the Oti River to link to the border countries.
This is expected to improve on businesses and trade.
Dr Bawumia was addressing the chiefs, clergy and Muslim clerics at Kratchie East in the Oti region on October 26.
“The bridge over the Oti work is ongoing. We have identified by the grace of God the Korean facility of two billion dollars. We are going to see about using to help with the bridge over the Oti.
The NPP flag bearer also assured the chiefs and Muslim clerics as well as the clergy of building an astro turf in the next few weeks.
“When we came to power in 2017, astro turfs were only three in the whole of Ghana and after eight years we have increased to one hundred and fifty. So when we come, districts without astro turf we will make sure everybody gets astro turf,” he assured.
He also emphasized on getting a university for the Oti Region.
“You need a university. The good news is that we already on the way, the Dambai Teacher Training is going to be upgraded into a university,” Dr Bawumia announced.
