Nordsjaelland coach Jan Laursen has provided an update on the imminent transfer of Ghana youngster Ernest Nuamah to Lyon following the delay in an official announcement.

The youngster has already missed three consecutive matches due to his potential move to the French Ligue 1 with medicals already done a week ago.

However, updates on the 19-year-old’s situation have gone cold from the camp of all parties involved.

Laursen has clarified the delay and affirmed that his team has fully met their obligation. He also emphasised that, despite the delay, the deal has not yet fallen through and could be sealed before the end of the window.

“Of course, we would also like to have things in place, but there are extra formalities when it is such a large transfer. We have to make sure that everything is one hundred percent in place,” he said.

“We are very, very, very far now, so we hope that it will fall into place during the coming days. After all, there are a few days until the window closes.

“We have done our part, and now we are waiting for the final formalities to fall into place,” he added.

If the deal goes through, Nuamah will become the most expensive player for Lyon as well as the most expensive departure for FC Nordsjaelland with a fee believed to be around €30 million including add-ons agreed upon.
