General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Justin Frimpong Koduah, says the unexpected resignation of Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen from NPP has caused controversy due to the manner in which it was carried out.

He made this statement in response to Alan Kyerematen’s resignation at a press conference held in Accra on Monday, September 26, 2023.

Mr. Justin Frimpong how surprised he and his party are, because Alan Kyeremateng did not pre-inform them about his decision to resign from the party.

“The disappointing part is the mode in which he decided to resign from the party, which was through a press conference without prior notice to the party” he stated

He emphasize that, the decision to hold the press conference without prior communication suggests that the resignation was premeditated and final.

“The Party wants to believe that by his decision to hold the press conference to resign without first informing the leadership of the Party suggests that he has made a premeditated and irrevocable decision to resign from the Party,” He added.

The general secretary added that when the party chairman visited Alan Kyeremateng on behalf of the party, he did not show any sign of leaving the party.

“Chairman visited him on behalf of the Party after the August 26 Special Electoral College, in an attempt to bring all the ten aspirants together, he did not portray any sign of resigning from the party, let alone going independent”.
