Legendary Kumawood actor Agya Koo, has denied allegations that he built his mansion with cash from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.
Agya Koo, who recently launched his new multi-million dollar mansion in Kumasi, has been at the center of criticism from some social media users, including fellow actor Oboy Siki.
Speaking on Kumasi-based Kessben FM, Alex Kofi Adu, better known as Agya Koo debunks the allegations, saying that he built the house from scratch.
“The building was there in 2007 and even the time I endorsed the NPP, I completed the house but I didn’t paint it,” he said. “I don’t know why people are peddling lies about me.”
Agya Koo also denied allegations that he has been given government contracts to buy cocoa or deal in fuel. “I don’t want to give Oboy Siki the attention because he talked with hatred,” he said. “But that will not stop me from doing what I can do to motivate others.”
Agya Koo said he is determined to work hard and save money so that he will not have to beg for money in his old age. “I don’t want to be in a wheelchair one day then I will come on social media to beg for money,” he said. “That’s why I don’t joke with my work.”
Agya Koo’s new mansion has been met with mixed reactions on social media. Some people have congratulated him on his achievement, while others have criticized him for his lavish lifestyle.
Despite the criticism, Agya Koo is determined to continue working hard and achieving his goals.
