He was reportedly being ‘verbally aggressive’ and wandering around an area he had been asked not to.
The Ghanaian approached one doctor and pushed him with his chest and demanded ‘what are you going to do about it?’
Doodoo then kicked at a medical crash cart, which has been described as a ‘vital piece of equipment’.
He called the police ‘muppets‘ when they tried to restrain him then he shoulder-charged an officer!
Another member of the medical staff was lunged at by Doodoo, putting her in fear for her life.
According to Philip Doodoo’s lawyer, Seamus Quigley, he was suffering a ‘mental health episode’ on the day of the incident.
He said Doodoo regretted what happened and apologised for his actions and was aware that the courts would not tolerate ‘hospitals being turned into war ones.’
District Judge Barney McElholm said that hopefully the defendant had learned his lesson and imposed a sentence of two months in prison.
