Samuel Naamgwimaa emerges as the overall winner of the 5th Presidential Pitch

Samuel Naamgwimaa, a 25 year old electrical engineering diploma student of the University of Mines and technology has emerged as the overall winner of the 5th Presidential Pitch with a whooping cash prize of GH₵250 with a personal top up of GH₵50,000 from President Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo Addo.

The Pitch is an initiative rollout by government in the bid to harness the entrepreneurial potentials within and among the youth and creates also opportunity for the them come out with innovative ideas and concepts developments for production as well as the manufacturing sector.

In addition, the initiative is geared towards the youth to enable them turn their business ideas to support market growth and to scale up the entrepreneurial space of the country.

Speaking at the grand finale in Accra, President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo said the next Presidential Pitch will be known as John Kumah Week, the late Finance Minister and the final prize of the Pitch will be called Dr, John Kumah prize for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

“The Pitch has an immense input by the late John Kumah and as such the programme must be honored in his name” he said adding that the programme demonstrates the importance government attaches to entrepreneurship.

For his part, the Chief Executive Officer of NEIP, Mr. Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, the programme will challenge the youth to turn their business ideas into reality adding that since its inception it has generated numerous jobs for the youth across the country.

He however urged the youth with entrepreneurial passion to take advantage of the Pitch to enable them unearth the full potential and opportunities in the bid to run their own jobs and employing others.

The Presidential Pitch is an initiative rolled out by the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP) designed to scale up youth Entrepreneurship and innovation across the country.
