The Sports Ministry has sent its condolences following the death of former Ghana Football Association (GFA) chairman Lepowura Alhaji Mohammed Nuru-Deen Jawula.
He was confirmed dead on Saturday, January 21, 2022. He was 73 years old.
“The Ministry of youth and sports has learnt with shock the death of the former Chairman of the Ghana Football Association, Alhaji Mohammed Nuru Deen Jawula.”
“The Ministry wishes to express its condolences to the bereaved family of the former football administrator,” posted on the official Twitter page of the ministry.

Between 1997 and 2001, Alhaji Jawula was the chairman of GFA.
He also served on the MTN FA CUP Committee and was the Chairman of the Ghana Premier League Organizing Committee.

Until his demise, he was a member of the Confederation of African Football’s Inter-club committee and CAF/FIFA Match Commissioner.
