The mortal remains of deceased Ghana star Christian Atsu will arrive in Ghana on Sunday night, Ghana Sports Online can confirm.
The 31-year-old was confirmed dead on Saturday morning by Turkish officials who discovered him trapped remains in the rubbles of the 7.8 magnitude earthquake which struck Turkey and Syria almost 2 weeks ago.
Ghana Sports Online can confirm that Atsu’s remains will touch down at the Kotoka International Airport on Sunday night at about 7.40PM via Turkish Airlines.
The 7-hour 20-minutes flight from Istanbul will bring the remains of the ex-Chelsea player to his homeland in Ghana where family members and well wishers will meet it on arrival.
Ghanaian officials in Turkey will accompany the body to the West African nation.
Top world organisations including FIFA, CAF, FC Porto, Chelsea, Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United, and many other top individuals have paid tribute to the former FC Porto star.
