Residents of Omanjor in the Greater Accra region were thrown into a state of panic yesterday evening when a notorious robber, Asamiru Salifu, and his accomplice stormed the community, unleashing a hail of bullets.
Eyewitnesses report says that the armed men, who were allegedly on a mission to terrorize , began firing indiscriminately, beating some community residents,causing widespread fear and chaos.
According to Graphic online report jan-9- 2014,the suspect was arrested after exchanging gun shots with security officers dispatched to apprehend him.
Samiru Salifu, a 27-year-old unemployed, had been on the police wanted list for allegedly engaging in robbery at residential areas, filling stations, as well as other violent crimes.
In the midst of the mayhem, a young man was struck by a stray bullet and is currently fighting for his life at Korlebu Hospital.
The community is still reeling from the shock of the attack, with many residents calling for increased security measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
In other hand there are reports that ,the notorious robber Samiru Salifu claiming to have connections with security personnel at the regional headquarters, which has led to concerns among residents in the Omanjor community.
However, it’s essential to note that these claims have not been verified, and no arrests have been made.
The media is investigating the reports, if found any truth upon the claims making by this notorious robber we will not hesitate to bring out the names of those security men at the region in bed with the criminal.
The situation is causing anxiety among locals, who are seeking assurance of their safety.”
