The Ashanti Regional Police Command has arrested three Nigerian nationals suspected of being members of a criminal syndicate allegedly targeting bank customers in Kumasi and its surrounding communities.
The suspects have been identified as Aboy Promise, 30; Favour Uwalaka, 45; and Kingsley, popularly known as KC, 35.
According to preliminary information, the three suspects were arrested in separate operations following intelligence gathered by the police.
Investigations suggest that the suspects operated by monitoring banking premises and identifying customers who withdrew large sums of money.
The suspected criminals would allegedly trail their targets after they left the banking halls before attacking and robbing them of their money.
The arrests are believed to form part of efforts by the police to clamp down on criminal activities targeting bank customers in the Ashanti Region.
The Ashanti Regional Police Command is expected to continue its investigations to establish the full extent of the alleged criminal operation and determine whether other individuals are connected to the suspected syndicate.
