Award-winning Ghanaian gospel musician, Celestine Donkor, has advised married women, particularly Christian wives, to be more open and understanding when it comes to intimacy with their husbands.

The ‘Akorfala’ hitmaker made the remarks in a video sighted by Ameyaw Debrah Media, where she spoke about the impact of repeatedly turning down a spouse’s request for sex in marriage.

According to her, one of the most painful experiences for a married man is gathering the confidence to approach his wife for intimacy, only to be met with excuses such as “I am tired” or “leave me.”

“One painful thing is for a husband to be in the mood to have sex with his wife, gather confidence and muscles to approach his wife in bed, only to be told ‘I am tired, ‘leave me’. It is so painful. It makes the man angry the whole night,” she said.

She explained that men naturally experience moments of arousal, including at dawn, and described it as hurtful when a man turns to his wife during such moments and is rejected.

“Excuse me, if your husband that has married you shouldn’t touch you, who should he go and have sex with?” she questioned.

Celestine Donkor further stated that one of the saddest situations for a married woman, especially a Christian wife, is for a marriage to suffer because of a lack of intimacy when she has been blessed with beauty and a body meant to be shared with her husband.

She encouraged married women to be generous with their husbands in that aspect of marriage, warning that constantly withholding intimacy could create challenges in a relationship.

“If you don’t give it to your husband, who will you give it to? And I promise you, if you keep being stingy with your body towards your own husband, one day you will regret it. You will push a good man to the wall, to areas and to things you do not want to see,” she added.
