DJ Cuppy, a music producer, has pledged a £100,000 donation to aid African students at the University of Oxford.

Earlier this year, the Nigerian DJ earned a master’s degree in African Studies from the university. She has established the Cuppy Fund to help postgraduate students from Africa attain the education they rightfully deserve.

The fund aims to enable future “development champions” in African and international countries, according to the university.

In the past, DJ Cuppy has supported organisations focused on child protection, girls’ education, and disabled person’s welfare. Femi Otedola, a Nigerian businessman, is her father.

She studied at Oxford from 2021 to 2022 and graduated in March. Cuppy Fund’s primary objective is to bridge the resource gaps for African students, who require it the most, according to the DJ.

The University of Oxford has said that the fund would assist students in meeting unexpected and urgent financial needs and achieving academic excellence.

The Africa Oxford Initiative, which seeks to increase the number of African students pursuing postgraduate degrees, received the donation.
