Jennifer Mendelewitsch, the agent of Ajax star Mohammed Kudus has affirmed the player’s decision to cut ties with Ajax and continue his young but flourishing football career elsewhere.
The Black Stars midfielder is enjoying one of the best seasons of his career with a remarkable run of performances for both club and country which has attracted interest from a number of top European clubs.
It was reported on Monday that the 22-year-old had rejected a contract extension in a bid to move to another club with Manchester United and Arsenal said to be among interested candidates.
Speaking in an interview with prominent Dutch newspaper, De Telegraaf, Mendelewitsch disclosed that it was in the best interest of both the player and the club to find an agreement to allow Kudus to move on.
She also confirmed that Kudus had rejected a contract that could have seen him play at Ajax Amsterdam until 2016.
“I think it is best for both Ajax and Mohammed that he makes a transfer now. Now is the right time,” said Kudus’ agent, Jennifer Mendelewitsch, to De Telegraaf.
“He has ignored a proposal to extend his contract until the summer of 2026. What I can say is that after the World Cup and this season, there is a lot of interest in Kudus.”
